Change the world, my manifesto

I am writing this on my way to the NATIONAL SERVICE orientation by GRA. I am sitting in a trotro, my readers outside Ghana, a trotro is a type of public transport here in Ghana. The driver is playing a song I don't know the title but its talking about dreams I think it's wutah's song. It has ignited something in me I don't know I only feel like typing this.

All I want to do is change the world for the better and show people that living for Jesus christ is a life worth living.

I wish I could connect with the right people to help me make positive changes out here. I want to see the smiles and tears of hardworking parents trying to provide for their kids get relief from their worries through charitable efforts.

I would love to be in the position to pay for the education of multiple families and even pay some bills to help people get ahead. To give them a much needed break in life and the opportunity to better their situation.

I want to do so much to make this world a better place and for people too see and know without any shadow of a doubt that Jesus is with me and they feel His love radiating through me.

That’s all I really want to do: build an empire of love and hope.

Create jobs for people and better homes for families. To help families bond and shower the neglected children with love and affection. To rebuild the family unit.

I know I’m a dreamer, but I really, really wish I had connections to the right people to make these things happen. Maybe one day, someday it won't be just a dream!

RETURNING TO TECH STARTUP LIFESTYLE - Some Reasons Startups Fail in Ghana

After  three straight years of the demise of umusiconline, I'm going back to my first love, tech business. I love the technology startup life and i always miss it; the code, refresh, drink coffee, watch traffic growth, upload ads life. I have been developing brands with I'Redylabs and doing missionary work with Hope Journey  to God's glory during this break. I am developing a specialised classified website and I am hopeful it will blow.

The Tech Startup lifestyle in Ghana here is difficult aside internet issues! It is easy to get ideas but it is difficult to get people using your app frequently  or getting return users on a platform and I don't know why. I'm still trying to get more reasons. Ghanaian tech consumers are interesting and tricky. Here's to some of the reasons startups fail in Ghana.

Umusiconline couldn't thrive because Ghanaian consumers and musicians didn't trust the whole online music selling thing as the solution to the music industry. Musicians will upload their song on umusiconline and will go upload it on free websites, really?  Instead of sharing the link to the paid site they'll be sharing the free one so they would get hit songs and get shows to perform for a while which isn't a sustainable move but that's what they want. Most Ghanaian online consumers hate the word "buy" it is because when we were introduced to computers we were using pirated software and everything felt free so we don't believe in investing in softcopy things now, we like buying tangible like the computer or laptop; something we can hold than something virtual. This has affected our tech industry largely.

Another problem is the taste in foreign goods! This is another Goliath, do we think foreign programmers write quality codes than local code programmers? I don't know if USA c++ is different from GHANA c++ or our PHP is inferior to theirs is still a difficult question to answer.

Ghanaian techies are too nerdy to present ideas to  the understanding of the ordinary people. We use big terms they won't bother to check in the dictionary and we don't use the correct marketing campaign strategies! Our beta products are often tested by engineers and nerds like us who will use minutes to figure out everything, Sometimes the only problem is that the users don't get the whole app.

I am hopeful my new startup would not face these problems, Maybe I have done my Homework!

Remember You're alone.

Growing up my mother told me a story. I learnt a lot of lessons from it and it guided me!

There was a very popular and wealthy man in a town known for his wealth, benevolence and philanthropy. Unfortunately he died and the entire town was saddened and in a state of despair.

On the day of the lay-in-state the entire town cried, wailed loudly exclaiming: "we will go with you". After a few hours of the wailing the electricity (power) went out and the same people who were crying and wailing began running away due to the darkness.

The chief of the town who was also rushing out unfortunately had his funeral attire hooked to a nail on the main canopy erected over the dead body. The chief began to cry and beg the dead man that he was just joking about "going with him" and that it was just a statement of solidarity but not that of actual commitment.

Moral of the story:

Sometimes people would chant to be with you, stand by you etc but the day of the commitment or crucifixion you will be alone. Even Judas betrayed Jesus for coins and Peter denied Jesus. Have a wonderful day!
