It is February: Forget New Year’s Resolutions.

I am Currently listening to Worlasi Gh - freedom ft Poetra Asantewa Sipping my ceylon green tea and I feel like typing this here without editing and here it goes.
I intentionally didn't post anything here on January because I'm learning to stop the new year new me life. NO I don’t need the New Year to make a change, set resolutions or goals. Many people feel pressure to set resolutions for the new year, but sadly the statistics show an extremely high rate of failure in accomplishing or maintaining them. If changes to be made are only within ones desire or grasp at the beginning of a calendar new year, it warrants them less important and often people use it as an excuse to drag and delay a change that is too challenging for them.

Nowadays, the New Year is a time of promise, hope, and change across the world, but how often does it prove to be successful? At the start of each year, people create resolutions for themselves to achieve, and carry out across the whole year, when in reality, many of those resolutions don’t even last until June. If one really thinks about it, there is no marked difference between the New Year and the old one; it becomes one and the same. But, all types of change does occur within that span of time, and is constantly changing, no matter what, it just makes no difference whether that change occurred in 2016 or 2017.

The concept of the New Year is one that is indeed, arbitrary. Of course, there are many types of New Year celebrations for all different kinds of peoples: Rosh Hashanah, the New Year for Jews (October 2-4 2016), Hijri, the New Year for Muslims (varies across different countries), and the Chinese New Year (celebrated on January 28, 2017). Dont ask me how did I know? My neighbors here in Tema are Chinese. There are different kinds of calendars for different kinds of cultures, meaning that the New Year to that culture is purely relative from culture to culture.

I am not the person who waits for the new year to make resolutions. Each day,I make resolutions which I endeavour to follow and materialise.Actually the people who wait for new years are those that are justifying their laziness and complacency with the little they do have. People often fear change and by putting it off to a later change like ,”new years” ,they actually are buying more time to stay in their comfort zones. I believe those will be the same people who will actually find another excuse not to live up to their resolutions
I have one simple piece of advice whatever you wish to do,do it now!!! Live as if today is your last day.

maybe my new year resolution is to try freestyle blogging..lol Happy New Year
