Menzgold: Ponzi or Not? Thoughts from the Kuku Hills

Today I  was first to come to work, I have nothing to do and I am just standing in the window looking down the Kuku Hill street from the 5th floor of Revenue Towers. Something crossed my mind so what's the meaning of all these hustle? Wakeup early around 4am leave home  and reach the work place around 6am start work around  8am, close around 5pm reach home around 8pm and the loop continues tomorrow.

How will you feel when you're able to raise some amount of money and you invest the after few years an organisation you know nothing about called SEC comes to say the company you're investing in should shutdown with immediate effect?  The company you're investing in too doesn't seem to be able to explain what's going?  After thinking about the whole issue I went on twitter  (my favourite social media now) and I chanced on a post about menzgold being a joker trick lol.

So I learnt about joker trick ie. The utalium trick in a movie and those who don't understand here is it.

Gold is a chemical element with the atomic number 79 and its Latin equivalent is simply Aurum. The abbreviation AU means Aurum, and nothing else.

There is no such word in Latin, and there never was a Latin word for "Utalium". Please verify it in any Latin dictionary online. Because the terminology "Aurum Utalium" does not and cannot represent the true gold, the word was used in courts in some countries, to defend the criminal, as criminal never offered "Aurum" but "Aurum Utalium" which is the name of the fake and fraudulent yellow, shiny metal, that contained no gold inside.

It was brass and alloy of several metals that none of them was a precious metal.

The words "Aurum Utalium" or sometimes also incorrectly transmitted as "Aurum Utallum" and similar versions, have been used in numerous offers that are sent to us with the purpose to buy such fake and fraudulent gold.

Where did this fake word "utalium" come from? It is something that was made up by the broker community, and it does not exist. It does not exist in any dictionary and it does not exist anywhere on Earth, in nature or otherwise.

So our Menzgold brothers and sisters, do you see something familiar in your contract here?
Utalium is nowhere in any documentation nor in any dictionary. However, you will find this nonexistent word all over the internet as if it were something that does exist, when in fact it does not.

Utalium is supposed to be "New Latin" or "neo-Latin," which is supposed to mean "useful element."

I don't know, you don't know, Nam1 knows.

It's beyond the Dollar-Cedi thing, my thoughts on the Ghanaian Economy right now

I know you were expecting a post on  Adulthood because that's what I posted on my social media as my next topic but I feel like I have something to say on politics, yeah politics.

You know what saddens me the most? Young people waking up each day complaining about the state of the country and fighting amongst ourselves alongside party politics. I was hoping by now we would be tired of the complaints and rather focus on uplifting each other.

Truth of the matter is politicians will continue to deceive us each campaign/elections year on topics like fuel costs, exchange rates, lending rates, sanitation, healthcare, education, taxation, roads and infrastructure, energy, etc. They know very well that it is beyond their control. If the dollar becomes 1:1 with the Cedi today, it doesn't take rocket science to realize that our economy can not and will not be able to sustain that rate.

Government policies be it fiscal or monetary alone will not sustain an economy, it must be coupled with indigenous economic productivity (activities). The economy of Ghana is  hugely a consumption and import based economy, we all know that; but when we don't produce to meet our demands, and foreigners also control the relevant sectors of demand, how do we as a nation retain the revenue generated to stimulate economic activity? It ends up repatriated to the same countries that we imported from.

We borrow money from foreign countries to produce cocoa, that same cocoa is sent to the same foreigners for chocolates and other products, and that same products are shipped to Ghana by foreign importers who own local wholesale and retail outlets and we buy them for 10X the value then these foreigners repatriate the funds to their respective countries.

Nobody needs a degree in economics to realize that there's a huge capital flight within our country. The loans that our government go begging for to pay salaries end up again with the lender and we pay the interest! It's a never ending cycle! The question is, what are we  going to do about it as young people to save our dear Ghana?

State of mind, Stay true to yourself

So a reader on this blog asked me in an email that "how do I adjust to change in attitude from my friends? Some of my friends are changing completely ever since I started my journey to greatness"

The message reminded me of Kwesi Arthur's song on his EP 'live from Nkrumahkrom' the title of the song is Back on the Wall, I think Arthur was writing his thoughts on how some friends' attitude start changing when they realise that you are slowly and gradually creating something that can become bigger. I think any dreamer might have met these circumstances before.

So I replied the mail like this; My mom told me something when I was younger it goes like "the only person who will never envy your toys at some point in life is God. He created you, He wants you to create great things with your toys." Back then it didn't make sense but right now it makes sense to me.

One thing as dreamers we have to know is that, everything else around you changes so we need to stay true to ourselves. Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. These are not cliches but real something. It really works.

Always stay true to yourself Some people will like it, some people won't but hey Life goes on. Be true to yourself, because there are only a few people that will stay true to you, yes! I said that. Do you want me to repeat?  Most people are fake I remember I wrote in an older post something ago that some people are your friends because of what they'll get from you at a particular point in time.

I concluded the message that, some days you are going to be too sad 😔 and you will feel helpless. this is ok, don’t pressure yourself to feel happy. please be gentle with yourself when this happens. stay patient the lows are only temporary and they allow us to feel the true extent of happiness when it comes. Stay true to yourself.
