THE HOPE JOURNEY XMAS EDITION: THE PROJECT THAT WAS

Happy New Year to all of us!  In 2017, I decided not to get any new year resolutions, but accidentally I found a new dream with charity, I wanted to use my talent to impact on lives and God being so Good It became THE HOPE JOURNEY.

The hope Journey

The Hope Journey, an online non-denominational evangelical christian group made up of young people with the aim of putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged in society by providing aid in the form of educational materials, Christian Literature and used clothing especially to children in the deprived communities as part of Christian missionary work. We started it with just whatsapp groups and facebook posts and we were able to raise over 4000 Ghana cedis with social media to buy school bag and supply for needy kids and spread the Gospel.
The Hope July Started on my birthday, January 6 and we went to Asaase kokoo as our first destination on July 30th. We did an Xmas edition at Addo-Nkwanta on Boxing day. In all this is what I learnt.

What inspires you?

I remember someone we submitted a proposal to sometime asked me this question here is how I tried answering;

The knowledge that at the end of the day nothing matters is a huge inspiration for me. If we only have one life to live, why waste it pursuing something that doesn’t bring us happiness? Why waste it on people and friendships that only bring negativity in our lives? What’s the point?
I fell like there is more to life than just being there. I think We can pursuit happiness by winning souls for Christ, bringing smiles back on the face of peeps in society with my little talent God gave me.

What does it mean to be a hero?

Heroism is the quality of being willing to sacrifice yourself for others.

People seem to look for special examples of heroism, but heroes are everywhere. They serve you greasy snacks in fast food restaurants. They empty the bins in your office. They scrub dirty words off the desks in your classroom. They clean the streets in bright yellow reflective jackets. They unblock the toilet in your hotel room. They pick items off an endless conveyor belt in your local factory. They work at the 24 hour supermarket during the graveyard shift.

Anywhere there is a job you wouldn't want to do there is someone spending every hour God sends doing a job they absolutely hate to put food on their kids table and clothes on their backs.

How about that for self sacrifice? Heroes are so commonplace we don't even notice them.That's the kind of hero I want to be but if I don't become one I will still be grateful these "invisible heroes"

I will end this blogpost with I message I sent to all people who matter to THE HOPE JOURNEY on our first anniversary;

There are lots of ways to be as a person, and some people express their deep appreciation in different ways. But one of the ways that I believe people express their appreciation to the rest of humanity is to make something wonderful and put it out there. And you never meet the people, you never shake their hands, you never hear their story or tell yours. But somehow in the act of making something with a great deal of care and love, something's transmitted there. And it's a way of expressing to the rest of our species, our deep appreciation. So we need to be true to who we are. And remember what's really important to us. That's what's going to keep The Hope Journey, Hope Journey: is if we keep us, us.
